1964

Establishment of Dragon de Chine (Electronics)

Our Chairman, Michel LAN KWET HIAN, G.O.S.K. founded Dragon de Chine (Electronics) at Chaussée Street, Port Louis. The Vacuum Tube Radio from NEC, Japan was introduced as our first product.

1970

1st Color TV in Mauritius

Dragon de Chine (Electronics) played a pioneering role in Mauritius by being the first to introduce color television, marking a significant milestone in the local market.

1975

Ariston gives exclusive distribution to Dragon de Chine (Electronics)

Ariston has officially designated Dragon de Chine (Electronics) as the exclusive distributor, entrusting them with the responsibility of representing their brand in Mauritius.

1985

Assembly of NEC TV by Dragon de Chine (Electronics)

Due to high import duties on TV and following the incentive received from the government, Dragon de Chine (Electronics) started to assemble NEC TV from Complete Knock Down.

1986

Ariston Free Standing Cooker

Dragon de Chine (Electronics) started to assemble Ariston Free Standing Cooker from Complete Knock Down

1987

Business meeting with SHARP in Japan

1987

Acquisition for the Future of Dragon de Chine (Electronics)

Michel LAN KWET HIAN acquired this property with the vision of building a prosperous future for Dragon de Chine (Electronics).

1988

Business meeting with NEC in Japan

1989

Goldstar, now LG

Dragon de Chine (Electronics) has been exclusively chosen by Goldstar, now LG, to serve as its sole distributor, solidifying their partnership for the future.

1990

Rebranding of Dragon de Chine (Electronics)

Dragon de Chine (Electronics) changed its name to Dragon Electronics. At the same time, we introduced the Personal Computer, Key Telephone System, and PABX System.

Creation of Dragon House

The completion of the Dragon House which is our current location and also comprises of the Head Office, Service Centre & Warehouse was effected.

Dragon Electronics Rose Hill was opened at Les Galeries Evershine

Dragon Electronics Quatre Bornes was opened at Orchard Centre

Dragon Electronics 1st LG Brand Shop

Dragon Electronics opened the first LG Brand Shop at Bagatelle Mall, Moka. It was the second LG Brand Shop to be opened in the Sub-Saharan region, only a few days after the one at Canal Walk in Cape Town, South Africa.

Dragon Electronics 2nd LG Brand Shop

The Dragon Electronics 2nd LG Brand Shop was opened at Grand Baie La Croisette. Then all of the 6 existing shops were converted to Dragon Electronics LG Brand Shops
